Hosted by:

BCC Early Years Service SEND Advisors

SENCOs from all from all pre-schools, nurseries, out of school clubs, childminder QIPs, schools and children’s centres delivering the EYFS

Frequency:

10 locality meetings each term

Purpose:

Early Years (EY) SENCO Liaison Groups are free to attend and open to EY SENCOs in settings and schools with EYFS provision in Buckinghamshire. The groups provide an opportunity to share practice and discuss the latest developments in SEND, including the changes implemented in September 2014 following the introduction of the Children and Families Act 2014.

The groups meet on a termly basis at a number of venues across the county. SENCOs can view all available groups and decide which is the most appropriate and convenient one to attend. Groups are run by members of the Early Years Service who have specialisms and expertise in supporting children with additional needs.

This term's meetings we discussed the following:

The focus for this term is ‘Co-Production and A Parent’s Perspective’. How do we ensure parents and carers feel and are ‘Involved’ and not just ‘Informed’? There will be the usual time for networking and updates, specifically on the EY SENCO qualification and EY SENDIAN pilot.

Please book your place for these groups online

These groups are still the main way you can have regular contact with EY SEND Advisors and it is how we share key information throughout the year, your attendance is important and valued by us
