  • Experience of working with children aged 2-5 years in a nursery / day care setting as a practitioner.
  • Experience of working as a keyworker to a group of children.
  • A level 3 full and relevant childcare qualification.
  • An excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS.
  • An excellent understanding of safeguarding / knowledge of child protection procedures.
  • Good communication skills, approachable, confident and caring with a passion for working with young children.

Responsibilities/Extra Information:

We are recruiting for an experienced Early Years Practitioner for our fun loving Pre-School in Stoke Poges. Our Pre-School is based in a woodland position, so a love of the outdoors and a pair of wellies is essential.

We are looking for a level 3 practitioner to join our small, experienced team to assist in providing a safe, secure and stimulating environment for the children who attend the Pre-School. The successful Early Years Practitioner must have a minimum full and relevant level 3 childcare qualification and prior experience working in an early years setting.

  • Duties and Responsibilities
  • To assist in the provision of providing a high quality age appropriate learning environment.
  • To act as a key worker to a small group of children, maintaining an electronic journal.
  • Liaise closely with parents/carers/ outside agencies to ensure each child's needs are recognised and met.
  • Be flexible and prepared to help where needed, including undertaking certain domestic jobs within the Pre-School, e.g. cleaning of equipment etc.
  • Provide peer support by sharing relevant knowledge and learning with colleagues.
  • Implement the settings policies, systems and procedures including those relating to safeguarding, health and safety, equal opportunities, confidentiality, and data protection and ensure records are properly maintained.
  • Promote an inclusive approach to work with families and children, and address barriers to participation.
  • Ensure the rights of children are respected and promoted.
  • Undertake relevant training and development as required
  • To be involved in out of working hours activities, e.g. training, staff meetings, fundraising events.
  • A reliable mode of transport as we are not well served by public transport
