Qualifications/Experience:
Degree in Early Years, Foundation or Supervisory Level. Working at Manager/Deputy level for 5 years.
Minimum 5 years management experience in a childcare, Early Years or play work setting at Manger or Deputy level.
Preferred Degree in Childhood Studies & Education, or Foundation or Supervisory level in childcare
Full driving licence with access to your own vehicle essential
To motivate and inspire the staff team to provide high quality childcare.
A clear DBS Enhanced police check is required for the role
Responsibilities/Extra Information:
Busy Living is expanding its Out of School Clubs offering Breakfast, After School and Holiday Clubs within Central & South Bucks areas with clubs in Aylesbury, Amersham, Chesham, and Chalfont St. Peter. We are looking for a motivated and Early Years qualified candidate to work independently to manage all day-to-day operations of the clubs, visiting, advising, and training staff. This role is partly home based as well as very regular visits to the clubs. You will be expected to maintain high standards in staff delivering professional and high quality childcare. You will need to have 5 years’ experience at Manager, Deputy, or Supervisory level in childcare. This role requires IT skills for producing documents and reports.

- Responsibility for the efficient and effective running of the clubs to ensure outstanding practice is always delivered. Supporting the staff teams to achieve this.
- Responsibility for staffing and dealing with on-boarding of new staff
- Responsibility for staff having relevant knowledge, tools, and support to operate to expected standards.
- You will be out on site very regularly, actively supporting the staff, carrying out checks/audits, focusing on quality of delivery, observing staff and club performance
- Working with and supporting the staff team and Club Managers creating Strategic Improvement Plans and working towards these goals
- Responsibility for covering staff absences when required.
- Being responsible for updating policies and procedures
- Being the Line Manager for staff
- Having good knowledge of the Early Years framework particularly the Safeguarding & Welfare requirements under the framework.
- Dealing with Ofsted communications, LADO and Early Years as needed
- Promoting the clubs via social media
- Conducting Staff Meetings termly
- Conducting supervisions and appraisals for Club Managers
- Support and contribute in the preparation of the Ofsted inspection process
- Ensuring staff training is completed and support given where required
- Organising and attending New Parent or similar events
- Provide direct cover at the Breakfast, After School Clubs when needed
- Provide a half day’s cover each day the Holiday Club is running at either of the two Holiday Club locations
- Preparation of all holiday club planning and resourcing for two clubs.
Hours
Monday - Friday, 10:00-18:00. Time split between at homework and on site work at all clubs. Some flexibility around hours is expected.
