Little Hoppers Daycare - Childcare Assistant/Childminder


  • Minimum of Level 3 in childcare
  • Full and relevant Childminder qualification desired but not essential as this can be carried out in the setting.

Responsibilities/Extra Information:

  • To have specific training/knowledge of working with allocated age group in order to support their individual needs
  • To support the team members to have the specific knowledge and skills required to work effectively with children of all ages
  • To keep records of your key children’s development and learning journeys, share this with parents, carers and other key adults in the child’s life and institute reviews for parents, in conjunction with the Lead Practitioner
  • Support all team members with the early identification and intervention for children with possible special needs and give physical, emotional, intellectual guidance as appropriate
  • Complete termly tracking in corporation with staff team and feedback to the manager, implementing plans in line with the evidence gathered.
  • To adhere to, and support all team members to understand and follow, the legal requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • Undertake appropriate supervision meetings/processes for all members in your team in conjunction with the nursery management approach
  • Feed into appraisals, target setting and nursery operations as deemed appropriate by the Lead Practitioner
  • Attend nursery management meetings and feed appropriate information back to your teams
  • Ensure all record keeping is accurate and up-to-date within your designated area, including learning journeys of all children in your room, sleep charts, accident forms, daily record sheets and any other forms/records required for the child’s welfare, learning and development
  • To be involved in out of working hours activities, e.g. training, monthly staff meetings & parents evening
  • Undertake certain domestic jobs within the setting, e.g. preparation of snack & meals, cleaning of equipment and such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature as may be determined from time to time by the Lead Practitioner or Business Owner.
  • Participate in training
  • Work alongside the Business Owner, Lead Practitioner and staff team to ensure that the setting for fill it’s full potential and that all children are cared for.
