Early Years Grants

Place Development Grant - Now Closed

Grants are available to setting based providers to support the delivery of the 2-year-old offer and the Universal and Extended Funded Entitlement for eligible 3 & 4-year-olds.

Grant applications are being considered which support Buckinghamshire County Council (BCC) to deliver on its Statutory Duty to ensure sufficient early education and childcare places. This may be used to support the development of new places through expansion, through extending operating hours, via partnership arrangements or other creative solutions. Priority will be given to those applications which demonstrate a flexible approach to the delivery of the funded entitlement, which best meets the needs of the local community, and to areas where there is demonstrated a need for additional provision.

If you wish to be considered for a grant please contact your BCC Early Years Officer direct, email earlyears@buckscc.gov.uk or call the office on 01296 387111. A member of the Early Years Team will confirm whether there is demonstrated a need for an additional provision in your area, whether your plans meet the criteria and if so will forward a grant application to you for your completion and return.

Closing date for completed applications is 31st January 2019, or when all available funds have been committed, if later.

Contingency Funding

In 2017 the government introduced a new Early Years National Formula (EYNFF). Within the formula, there is provision for Local Authorities to establish a Contingency Fund to support sustainability and or growth within the market.
